Acolytes: Youth
ages 8 and older who assist the priest with the worship service. Training
provided. Adopt A
Family: Our adopted
family is assisted throughout the year with a number of drives designated to
help their needs (clothing, back to school supplies, holiday food). Adult Education/Evangelism: a variety of programs are offered throughout the year based on parish interest and needs. Contact: David Nash Altar Guild: Sets altar for all services (linens, vestments, and candles). Each team of two persons, serve for a two week time period covering all services which occur within that time period. Contact: Chris Hoinacki
Bible Study:
Building & Grounds Maintenance: Many opportunities of different sizes and skills to assist with the upkeep of St. Paul’s facilities. A detailed list of current tasks needing completion is posted on the board in the Parish Hall. The committee meets once per month. Contact: Mark Floberg Children’s Education: Sunday school meets weekly during the 10 AM service throughout the school year for the Pre-K (must be 3) through Middle School. Teachers are assigned for quarters (8-9 weeks) and must be willing to attend a one time safe church training class. Weekly time commitment for teaching and class prep is about 1½ hours once per week. Contact: Sarah Wood Choir (Senior): Sings a variety of styles from classical, traditional and contemporary at the 10 AM Sunday service. Practices Thursday nights for 2 hours. Open to ages high school and up. Contact: Bernadette Allan Choir (Junior): Sings every 4-6 weeks at 10 AM Sunday service. Practices on Sundays at 11:30 AM. Open to grades 2-8. Contact: Bernadette Allan Church Fair: Annual October fundraising craft fair featuring many outside vendors as well as our own crafts, baked goods, lunch and other features. Many opportunities to participate ranging from committee members who meet throughout the year to plan for the next fair, to those who are only able to work on fair day or donate baked good or crafts. Contact: Jayne Bolton Coffee Hour Hosting: Prepares coffee and provides snacks (baked goods, veggies, bagels, etc.) for fellowship time following the 10 AM service. Coffee supplies and bagels are provided by church and written instructions posted for preparation, set up and clean up. Usually shared by two or more persons per week. All members of the parish are encouraged to sign up at least once per year! Contact: Dianne Dobosz Confirmation Preparation: Two year program for teens (7th grade and up) wishing to be confirmed. Class meets once per week for 16 weeks each year and also includes 1 weekend retreat, Christian service hours, and an adult sponsor who is a member of St. Paul’s. Contact: Jayne Johnson Family
Table: Senior
citizens of the community are our guests for lunch in the Parish Hall on the 2nd
Thursday of each month. Volunteers are needed on Wednesday evening for set
up and preparation and on Thursday to serve and cleanup. Baked goods for dessert
are also needed each month. Flower Committee: Creates flower arrangements for the altar each Sunday. Any adult interested is most welcome. No experience necessary. Contact: Marybeth Banks Food Bank: Non perishable items are collected at the back of the church each Sunday to be given to the Shelton Food bank. All members are encouraged to contribute to food baskets frequently. Help delivering to food bank is also welcome. Contact: Audrey Buckner Fund Raising: Coordinates
events to increase resources available to the parish for ministry and outreach.
Habitat for Humanity:
An international Christian organization dedicated to providing affordable
housing to hard working low income families. Each summer our teens, led by
adults from our parish, spend a week helping to renovate a Habitat house. Help
is also needed on selected Saturdays throughout the year. Helping Hands: Provides temporary assistance with meal preparation and grocery shopping to elderly or sick on an as needed basis. Contact: Dianne Dobosz Hospitality: Responsible for coordinating all annual parish and special events involving food at St. Paul’s. Contact: Jayne Johnson Lay Eucharistic Ministers: Specially licensed lay persons who carry communion to those parishioners who are physically unable to attend church. Contact: Ron Kelly Lay Readers: Specially trained and licensed by the Bishop to assist in worship services. Open to a limited number as space becomes available. Contact: Ron Kelly Men’s Group: Open to all men of St. Paul’s. Leads and supports intergenerational parish activities through the year. Offers its members an opportunity to explore, share and deepen their personal and faithful relationships through service to the parish and each other. Contact: Byron Peterson or David Nash Nursery Volunteers: Adults/teens needed to help the paid nursery staff during Sunday 10 AM service. Contact: Rev. Janet Waggoner Outreach Committee: Utilizes time, talent and treasure to provide compassionate services to people in need. Missions served both international and local. Contact: Karen Peppin Prayer
Chain: Open to all
parishioners who are willing to pray daily for those persons on the prayer list.
Names of those in need of prayer many be added to list by calling the contact
person or church office. Prayer Team: Available during each service on Sunday to pray with individuals. All parishioners are welcome to participate and training is provided. Contact: Carol Jacoby
Stewardship Committee:
Leads the parish to build a life of commitment and service through the
dedication of people’s gifts and talents for the advancement of God's Kingdom. Student
Ministry: "Fridays"-
for middle schoolers- meets on Friday evenings at Church.
Ushers/Greeters: Work
in teams of two to welcome people to Sunday 10 AM services. Also responsible for
taking up offering. All are welcome to participate and serve approximately once
every 4-6 weeks. Vacation Bible School: Held for one week during the summer for children ages 3½ through 4th grade. Volunteers are needed to teach arts, crafts, stories, games and activities. Must have or be willing to attend a 4 hour safe church training program. Contact: Sarah Wood
Volunteer Office Help:
Variety of weekly needs for office help (phones, mailing, copying).
Welcoming Committee:
Open to those members with a strong desire to develop plans to invite people to
